Bringing a large-scale storage project to life in Italy takes real persistence. This award is for the teams that are successfully building out Italy’s future energy pipeline, navigating complex regional permitting, and ensuring smooth local integration without causing negative impacts on communities or the environment.

• Who should enter: Independent Power Producers (IPPs), utility developers, and specialised renewable development firms driving BESS deployment in the Italian market.

The energy transition depends on innovative technologies and solutions that make energy storage safer, smarter, more reliable and better integrated into the grid. This award celebrates the companies developing, manufacturing, integrating and delivering the technologies and solutions that are shaping the future of battery storage in Italy.

• Who should enter: Battery and BESS technology manufacturers, inverter manufacturers, system integrators, EMS and energy management software providers, and other technology companies aligned with Italian grid requirements.

A battery is only as good as the commercial strategy behind it. With the rollout of MACSE and the fast-paced shifting of the wholesale balancing and ancillary services market (MSD), this category celebrates the automated platforms and trading models that are making storage assets financially viable and commercially successful in Italy.

• Who should enter: AI-driven optimisers, algorithmic trading platforms, virtual power plant (VPP) operators, and traditional utility trading houses commercialising flexibility assets in Italy.

Every landmark project starts as a blueprint and ends up changing the grid. This award shines a light on a specific, fully operational storage site in Italy that stands out for its engineering excellence, smooth integration, and real-world impact.

• Who should enter: Project teams behind specific operational BESS sites, co-located solar/wind + storage plants, or landmark standalone installations connected to the Italian grid.

Behind every major industry milestone is a person pushing boundaries, challenging old regulations, or unlocking new financial models. If there is someone whose vision and dedication have truly elevated the Italian energy storage sector this year, we want to hear about them.

• Who should enter: Visionary C-level executives, regulatory experts, lead engineers, and market analysts driving the sector forward in Italy.

The Italian energy sector is being reshaped by incredible female leadership. This award is our chance to celebrate the women who are leading major projects, pioneering new technologies, and inspiring the next generation of professionals to enter the storage industry.

• Who should enter: Exceptional female executives, project directors, engineers, researchers, and policymakers making waves in the Italian market.

Phase 2: Vote for the Finalists (Round 1)

• When: 26 October – 11 December 2026
• Your Action: The longlist of nominees is revealed! Cast your vote using the form to help narrow down the competition.

Phase 3: Choose the Winners (Round 2)

• When: 4 January – 9 February 2027
• Your Action: The final 4 contenders in each category are announced. Vote one last time to select the ultimate winners.

Phase 4: The On-Site Gala Ceremony

• When: 9 February 2027
• What Happens: The big reveal. Winners are announced and trophies presented live during the RENMAD Storage Italia 2027 gala dinner.
