The II Edition of the RENMAD Biomethane Awards 2027 is an initiative dedicated to recognising and celebrating the most outstanding examples of the biomethane sector in Spain. These awards highlight both the projects and solutions that are driving the development of the sector and the people whose work is contributing decisively to its growth, innovation and consolidation.

In this second edition, the awards have four categories, which distinguish both business initiatives and individual trajectories and contributions: Biomethane Project, Innovation, Personality of the Year and Woman of the Year.

Actively participate in the RENMAD Biomethane Awards 2027 by voting for your favorite nominations in each category in the form on the right. Your participation is essential to recognise and value the dedication, innovation and excellence that are transforming the biomethane sector in Spain.

BIOMETHANE PROJECT AWARD

The award is aimed at biomethane production projects operational in 2026 in Spain, which stand out for their contribution to the development of the sector and for their positive impact in economic, social, territorial and environmental terms. Its ability to promote the circular economy, generate new opportunities in the territory and contribute to decarbonisation objectives will be particularly valued.

INNOVATION AWARD

This award recognises innovative solutions, technologies, initiatives or business models that are contributing to the advancement of the biomethane sector in Spain. Its ability to solve challenges in the sector, improve the efficiency and sustainability of projects, generate new business opportunities or facilitate the integration of biomethane into the energy and production system will be particularly valued.

PERSONALITY OF THE YEAR AWARD

This award recognises a person who, from management, technical, research, dissemination, administration or business or financial leadership, is contributing decisively to the growth and consolidation of the biomethane sector in Spain. Their trajectory and contribution should represent a significant boost for the sustainable development of the sector and for the advancement of the circular economy and decarbonisation.

WOMAN OF THE YEAR AWARD

This award recognises a woman whose career, leadership and contribution are having an outstanding impact on the development of the biomethane sector in Spain. Their ability to promote projects, innovation, knowledge, investment, dissemination or transformation of the sector will be particularly valued, as well as their contribution to making visible and strengthening the role of women in the biomethane industry.

  • Categories

    • 4 categories are defined in which nominations can be submitted for the RENMAD Biomethane Awards 2027:

      • Biomethane Project Award

      • Innovation Award

      • Personality of the Year Award

      • Woman of the Year Award

    • The awards will recognise the value of the actions, projects and initiatives developed by the candidates during the year 2026.

  • Nomination process

    • Candidates may nominate themselves and other individuals, companies or organisations that they consider worthy of the award in each category.

    • Specific information will be requested from each candidacy on the reasons why the candidate deserves to be recognized:

      • In Project: organization responsible for the candidate project.

      • In Innovation: organization responsible for the candidate solution, technology, initiative, or business model.

      • In Personality: full name, title, email and company or organization represented.

      • In Women: full name, position, email and company or organization represented.

      • An explanation of no more than 100 words about the candidacy and its relevance to the category to which it is submitted.

  • Beneficiaries

    • Individuals or legal entities that have stood out for their work in the field of biomethane may be candidates.

    • The recognized projects, initiatives and activities must have been developed in the national territory.

  • Format and voting

    • The format of the Awards is popular; The nominations and election of the winners will be made by the votes of individual people.

    • Each person may cast a single vote per category.

    • Candidates may apply for more than one category when they meet the requirements established for each of them.

  • Selection of winners

    • The same company or organization may not be the recipient of more than one award in the categories corresponding to organizations. In the event that the same organization is the winner in more than one category, only the one in which it has received the most votes will be awarded.

    • If the winning organization or the recognized person is not represented during the awards gala, the recognition will be transferred to the next finalist with the highest score in the voting.
